Tobias Forge Bans Phones on GHOST Tour, Cites 5G Conspiracy and Fear of Bedroom Malfunction

GHOST mastermind Tobias Forge has long been known for his theatrical performances, elaborate backstory, and now, apparently, his deep-seated fear of electromagnetic waves rendering him useless in the bedroom. As part of the band’s newly announced 2025 US tour, Forge has doubled down on the controversial decision to enforce a “phone-free experience”—a move he claims is about fan engagement, but sources close to the band suggest has more to do with his personal paranoia over 5G radiation.

The US leg of the tour will kick off July 9th in Baltimore and wrap up August 16th in Houston, with notable stops at Madison Square Garden on July 22nd. However, fans eager to snap a blurry, overexposed photo of Papa Emeritus will be sorely disappointed, as the band will require all phones to be locked away in Yondr pouches for the entirety of the show.

While Forge initially justified the ban by lamenting the modern audience’s obsession with filming concerts instead of experiencing them, insiders have revealed a more shocking reason: the GHOST frontman has become convinced that excessive smartphone use at concerts generates an overwhelming concentration of 5G signals, posing a direct threat to his, well… “creative energies.”

“Tobias read some articles, watched some YouTube videos, and suddenly, he’s an expert on electromagnetic fields,” an anonymous roadie told us. “He’s convinced that if too many people have their phones out, the radiation is going to cook his reproductive organs and, I quote, ‘turn my magic wand into a plastic fork.’ We tried explaining how science works, but he wasn’t having it.”

Forge himself has yet to confirm the theory publicly, but in a recent interview, he did allude to his concerns. “People don’t understand what’s happening around them,” he said ominously. “You’ve got these invisible forces in the air, just bombarding us. And, you know, I want to be able to keep bringing the magic… on and off stage.”

Fans have reacted with a mix of confusion and amusement. “I love GHOST, but come on, man. You think the same guy who wrote ‘Year Zero’ is afraid of a few Instagram stories?” one concertgoer quipped. Meanwhile, conspiracy theorists have latched onto Forge’s comments, hailing him as a new champion of the anti-5G movement.

Whether or not Forge’s fears are valid (spoiler: they’re not), one thing is certain—GHOST’s upcoming tour will be an experience unlike any other. And for fans who really need to check their phones mid-show, the designated “radiation-safe zones” (also known as the lobby and bathrooms) will be available.
